Krishnapatnam Port Company has won the mandate from the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh to develop the existing minor port into a modern, deep water & high productivity port, on BOST basis for 50 years. The port is being built in three phases and currently the second phase of development is underway. Port has numerous strengths like its area, location, weather and new generation world class port facilities; it will soon be poised to become one of the biggest ports in the world and the Largest port in India.

Krishnapatnam Port Wins CII Award for EHS Practices. The ISO certified Port was bestowed with the top honors in EHS Practices for the Infrastructure Sector and a 4 Star rating for its EHS performance in the last fiscal year.
In accordance with the SOLAS regulation and DG Shipping Circular M.S. Notice No. 04 of 2016 dated 11.5.2016 making it mandatory for all containers loaded w.e.f 1st July 2016 to be certified for Verified Gross Mass (VGM). Krishnapatnam Port Container Terminal (KPCT) is equipped and ready with all the requirements under the DGS guideline to assist our customers to adhere to the new regulation and continue with seamless and hassle-free loading of their containers at KPCT.
As a part of World Environment Day, 5th June 2016; about 250 employees from Krishnapatnam Port participated in Green Rally organised by APPCB and sponsored by KPCL.
On the occasion of World Environment Day, plantation programme was organized at KPCL - WEST BC ROAD and coconut saplings were planted by various port departments.
World Earth Day celebration were conducted at the port on 22nd April 2016 with the theme, ‘Trees for the Earth’. Day-long function included planting 300 saplings in the port premises.

Krishnapatnam Port addressed as the 'cape hub' of India becomes Home for Capes once again as it resumes normal operations on 20th January 2016 within a record span of 50 days after its operations were adversely affected due to siltation caused by severe rainfall and floods.
